PT Indonesia AirAsia to hold IPO this year
Low cost carrier AirAsia Group CEO and co-founder Tony Fernandes has announced its plans to push its Indonesian arm, PT Indonesia AirAsia, to have an initial public offering (IPO) this year.
"The IPO is hopefully this year. It's based on the growth of AirAsia Indonesia," he told reporters on Monday.
He declined to elaborate on the expected proceeding from the IPO but he stated that it would depend on the market condition.
The proceeding will be used to expand aviation in Indonesia.
"Buy more planes, basically, and invest in new destinations," he said.
Next year, the Indonesian arm is expected to welcome eight new A320 aircraft, in addition to three A330s for its international legs operated by Indonesia AirAsia X. (bbn)
